- 1 loaf Italian bread
- 2 teaspoons garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 pound ribeye steak
- Black pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- 1 large yellow onion, thinly sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced (optional)
- 1 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
- Parsley, chopped for garnish
📝 Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
3. Slice the loaf of bread lengthwise into two halves and place on the lined baking sheet, cut side up.
4. In a bowl, combine garlic, butter, salt, and pepper.
5. Spread over the cut sides of the bread.
6. Slice the ribeye into thin strips, season with salt and pepper.
7. In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and butter, then cook onions until caramelized, adding green peppers in the last minutes if using.
8. In the same skillet, add ribeye slices and cook until tender.
9. Divide the meat equally between the bread halves, top with onions, peppers, mozzarella, and parmesan.
10. Bake for 12-14 minutes until golden brown.
11. Garnish with parsley, slice, and serve.
