Easy Custard Pie

Servings: 8
Calories: Approximately 300 per slice

Ingredients:
- 1 unbaked pie crust
- 1 cup sugar
- 6 large eggs, room temperature
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 3 cups whole milk, room temperature
- 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg for garnish

Directions:
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Lightly spray a 9 1/2-inch pie pan with nonstick spray.
3. Place the unbaked pie crust into the prepared pie pan, pressing the dough firmly against the sides.
4. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the sugar, room temperature eggs, 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg, and vanilla extract for about 2 minutes until well combined.
5. Slowly add the room temperature milk to the mixture and whisk for an additional 3 minutes until it is smooth and well blended.
6. Pour the custard mixture into the prepared pie shell.
7. Sprinkle the remaining 1/8 teaspoon of nutmeg evenly on top of the custard.
8. Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until the custard is set.
9. Once done, let it cool for a bit, then slice and serve.

Note: For the best texture and flavor, use room temperature eggs and milk, and consider chilling the pie before serving.
