🥖 Tartine au Fromage (Cheese Toast)
A rustic French snack of toasted bread with melted cheese, perfect for a quick bite.
Ingredients:
• 4 slices country bread
• 150 g grated cheese (Gruyère, Comté, or Emmental work well)
• 1 tbsp butter
• 1 pinch salt
• 1 pinch black pepper
• 1 tsp fresh herbs (parsley, thyme, or chives, optional)
Instructions:
1️⃣ Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F).
2️⃣ Spread butter evenly on bread slices.
3️⃣ Sprinkle grated cheese on top of each slice.
4️⃣ Season with salt, pepper, and optional herbs.
5️⃣ Place bread slices on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
6️⃣ Bake for 8–10 minutes until cheese is melted and golden brown.
7️⃣ Serve immediately while hot and gooey.
