Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 medium potatoes, peeled and sliced thin
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and chopped onion, cooking until browned and cooked through (about 6-8 minutes). Drain any excess grease.
3. In a medium bowl, mix the cream of mushroom soup with milk. Add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper to taste.
4. In the prepared baking dish, layer the thin potato slices evenly at the bottom.
5. Spread half of the cooked beef and onion mixture over the potato layer.
6. Pour half of the soup mixture on top of the beef layer, followed by half of the shredded cheddar cheese.
7. Repeat the layering process with the remaining potatoes, beef mixture, soup mixture, and cheese.
8. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
9. After 45 minutes, take off the foil and bake for another 15-20 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is bubbly and golden.
