Farmhouse Hamburger and Potato Bake

Ingredients


1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
1/2 cup milk
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon dried parsley (optional)

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and onion until the beef is browned. Drain any excess grease and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
3. In a bowl, mix the cream of mushroom soup with milk until smooth.
4. In a greased baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes, followed by half of the beef mixture. Repeat the layers.
5. Pour the soup mixture evenly over the top.
6. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
7. Remove the foil, sprinkle with cheddar cheese and paprika, then bake uncovered for an additional 15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
8. Garnish with dried parsley if desired. Let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
