Easter Dirt Cake Casserole π«π
Ingredients:
For the Layers:
1 package (14 oz) chocolate sandwich cookies (e.g., Oreos), crushed
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
1 cup powdered sugar
1 container (8 oz) whipped topping (e.g., Cool Whip), thawed
2 packages (3.9 oz each) instant chocolate pudding mix
3 cups cold milk
For the Easter Decorations:
1 cup sweetened shredded coconut
Green food coloring
Mini chocolate eggs (e.g., Cadbury Mini Eggs)
Marshmallow Peeps (optional)
Directions:
Prepare the Cookie Crust:
Place the chocolate sandwich cookies in a food processor and pulse until finely crushed. Set aside.
Make the Cream Cheese Layer:
In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and cream cheese together until smooth. Mix in the powdered sugar until fully combined. Gently fold in the whipped topping and set aside.
Prepare the Chocolate Pudding Layer:
In another bowl, whisk the chocolate pudding mix and cold milk together for 2 minutes, or until thickened.
Assemble the Casserole:
In a 9x13-inch baking dish, layer 1/3 of the crushed cookies evenly across the bottom.
Spread half of the cream cheese mixture over the cookie layer.
Add half of the pudding mixture over the cream cheese layer.
Repeat the layers, ending with a final layer of crushed cookies on top.
Make the Grass Topping:
Place the shredded coconut in a zip-top bag. Add a few drops of green food coloring, seal the bag, and shake until the coconut is evenly tinted green.
Decorate for Easter:
Sprinkle the green coconut βgrassβ over the top layer of crushed cookies. Arrange mini chocolate eggs and Marshmallow Peeps on top to create a festive Easter scene.
Chill and Serve:
Cover and refrigerate the casserole for at least 2 hours (or overnight) to allow the layers to set. Serve chilled.
