Juicy Ribeye Steak with Buttery Caramelized Onions & Crispy Fries
Ingredients:
For the Ribeye:
2 ribeye steaks (1-inch thick)
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tbsp butter (for serving)
For the Caramelized Onions:
2 large onions, thinly sliced
2 tbsp butter
1 tsp brown sugar
¼ tsp salt
¼ cup beef broth (or water)
For the French Fries:
3 large russet potatoes, cut into fries
2 tbsp olive oil
½ tsp salt
½ tsp paprika
¼ tsp black pepper
Directions:
Prepare the Caramelized Onions: In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter and add the sliced onions. Cook slowly, stirring occasionally, for 10-15 minutes. Add brown sugar and salt, then pour in beef broth and let simmer until onions are deeply golden. Set aside.
Prepare the French Fries: Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Toss the cut potatoes with olive oil, salt, paprika, and black pepper. Spread them on a baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crispy and golden brown.
Grill the Ribeye: Preheat the grill or a cast-iron skillet over high heat. Brush the steaks with olive oil and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
Cook the steaks for 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare (adjust cooking time for desired doneness). Remove from heat and top with a pat of butter. Let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
Serve the grilled ribeye with caramelized onions on top and crispy French fries on the side. Enjoy!
