Haunted Lava Lamps
Supplies:
- Clear plastic bottles or jars (recycled water bottles work great)
- Vegetable oil (about 2/3 of the bottle)
- Water (about 1/3 of the bottle)
- Food coloring (green, purple, orange, or black for spooky vibes)
- Alka-Seltzer tablets (or any fizzing antacid tablets)
- Optional: glow sticks, LED lights, or fairy lights for glowing effect
- Optional: plastic spiders, bats, or eyeballs for floating Halloween décor

Directions:
1. Fill each bottle 2/3 with vegetable oil.
2. Add water until the bottle is nearly full (leave a little space at the top). The water will sink under the oil.
3. Add several drops of food coloring — it will mix with the water but not the oil.
4. Drop in glitter or tiny plastic Halloween toys for extra spookiness.
5. Break an Alka-Seltzer tablet into pieces and drop one in at a time. Watch bubbles form and blobs rise and fall like a lava lamp!
6. For glowing haunted lamps, tape a glow stick or place the bottle on an LED light base.
7. Repeat with different colors for a haunted laboratory effect.
