Cinnamon-Sugar Air Fryer Banana Chips
Ingredients
2 firm, slightly underripe bananas
1 tablespoon melted coconut oil or unsalted butter
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
Preheat the Air Fryer: Set your air fryer to 300°F (150°C) and let it preheat for 5 minutes.
Prepare the Bananas: Peel the bananas and slice them crosswise into uniform ⅛-inch-thick rounds. Thinner slices yield crispier chips, so use a sharp knife or mandoline for best results.
Mix the Coating: In a small bowl, combine the sugar and cinnamon until evenly blended.
Coat the Slices: In a separate bowl, gently toss the banana rounds with the melted coconut oil or butter until lightly and evenly coated. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the bananas and toss again to distribute the seasoning without bruising the slices.
Air Fry in Batches: Arrange the banana slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket—do not overlap. Depending on your basket size, you may need to cook in 2 batches. Air fry for 15 minutes total, flipping the slices halfway through with tongs or a fork for even browning.
Cool Completely: Transfer the chips to a wire rack as soon as they’re golden and crisp. They’ll continue to harden as they cool—resist the urge to stack or store them while warm, or they’ll steam and soften.
