Ingredients (in order used):
1 box devil’s food or chocolate cake mix (plus eggs, oil, and water as needed)
1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
1 (3.9 oz) box instant chocolate pudding mix
2 cups cold milk
1 (8 oz) tub Cool Whip, thawed
1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
Optional: chocolate syrup, crushed Oreos, or chocolate shavings for topping
Directions:
Initial Preparation:
Bake cake in a 9x13-inch pan according to package instructions. Let cool for 10 minutes.
Cooking Process:
Use the end of a wooden spoon to poke holes all over the cake.
Pour sweetened condensed milk evenly over the cake, letting it soak in.
Combining Ingredients:
In a bowl, whisk together pudding mix and cold milk. Let sit for 1–2 minutes until slightly thickened, then spread over cake.
Top with Cool Whip and sprinkle with mini chocolate chips. Add any extra toppings.
Chill at least 2 hours before serving. Slice and get ready for chocolate overload!
Serving Suggestions:
Best served cold with a tall glass of milk or hot coffee. Store covered in the fridge.
