Sizzling Garlic Butter Steak with Velvety Mashed Potatoes
Ingredients:
For the Steak:
2 ribeye or sirloin steaks (10 oz each)
2 tablespoons olive oil
3 cloves garlic, smashed
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 sprig rosemary or thyme
Salt and cracked black pepper, to taste
For the Mashed Potatoes:
2 lbs Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled and cubed
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
1/2 cup heavy cream (or warm milk)
2 cloves garlic, roasted
Salt and pepper, to taste
Optional Garnish:
Fresh parsley, chopped
Directions:
Boil the potatoes in salted water until tender, about 20 minutes. Drain well.
Mash with butter, roasted garlic, and cream until smooth. Season to taste.
Pat steaks dry and season generously with salt and pepper.
Heat oil in a skillet over high heat. Sear steaks for 3–4 minutes per side until desired doneness.
Reduce heat to medium, add butter, smashed garlic, and rosemary. Spoon melted butter over steaks.
Rest steaks 5 minutes before serving over creamy mashed potatoes. Garnish with parsley.
