Ingredients
For the Burgers:
1 lb ground beef (80/20 for juicy burgers)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
Salt and pepper, to taste
4 burger buns
For the Toppings:
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup sliced pepperoni
1/4 cup marinara sauce (for dipping or spreading)
Fresh basil leaves (optional, for garnish)
Olive oil (for toasting buns)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Burger Patties
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties. Make sure they are slightly larger than your burger buns, as they will shrink while cooking.
2. Cook the Burgers
Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, add a little olive oil to prevent sticking.
Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness (internal temperature should be 160°F for medium).
During the last minute of cooking, top each patty with shredded mozzarella cheese and a few slices of pepperoni. Cover with a lid to help melt the cheese and warm the pepperoni.
3. Toast the Buns
While the burgers are cooking, brush the inside of the burger buns with a little olive oil and toast them in a skillet or on the grill until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes.
4. Assemble the Burgers
Spread a little marinara sauce on the bottom half of each toasted bun.
Place the cheesy, pepperoni-topped burger patty on top of the sauce.
Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired for a burst of color and flavor.
Top with the other half of the toasted bun.
5. Serve & Enjoy
Serve your Pizza Pepperoni Burgers with a side of crispy fries, a salad, or some garlic bread for the full pizza-burger experience.
