🍕 Homemade Stromboli - a delicious, cheesy, and satisfying Italian-inspired dish 🍕
**Ingredients:**
- 1 lb pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
- 1/2 cup marinara sauce (plus extra for dipping)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup sliced pepperoni
- 1/2 cup sliced salami
- 1/2 cup sliced ham
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Fresh basil or parsley (optional, for garnish)
**Directions:**
1. **Preheat the Oven:** Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
2. **Roll Out the Dough:** On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a large rectangle, about 12x16 inches.
3. **Assemble the Stromboli:** Spread the marinara sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges. Layer the mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, salami, and ham on top of the sauce. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder.
4. **Roll the Dough:** Starting from one of the long sides, carefully roll the dough into a tight log, sealing the edges as you go. Pinch the seams and tuck the ends under to seal. Place the stromboli seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
5. **Brush with Egg Wash:** Brush the top of the stromboli with the beaten egg. Make a few small slits on top to allow steam to escape while baking.
6. **Bake:** Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the stromboli is golden brown and cooked through.
7. **Cool and Serve:** Let the stromboli cool for a few minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired. Serve with extra marinara sauce for dipping.
