🇫🇷 Opera Cake 🍰 (Vanilla Cake with Chocolate Frosting)
A soft, buttery vanilla sponge cake layered with silky chocolate frosting—perfect for any celebration!
📝 Ingredients:
200 g unsalted butter (room temp)
200 g granulated sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
250 g all-purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
120 ml milk
200 g dark chocolate
150 ml cream
Pinch of salt
👩🍳 Instructions:
1️⃣ Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and flour three 20cm round cake pans.
2️⃣ Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
3️⃣ Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Stir in vanilla.
4️⃣ Mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Add to the wet mix alternately with milk.
5️⃣ Divide batter between pans and bake 20–25 mins. Let cool completely.
6️⃣ For frosting: melt chocolate with cream, let cool to a spreadable consistency.
7️⃣ Layer cake with frosting between and around the sides. Chill before slicing.
