Moist Banana Cake with Velvety Cream Cheese Swirl

Ingredients:

1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
½ cup unsalted butter, softened
¾ cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 cup mashed ripe bananas (about 2 bananas)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ cup sour cream

For the Cream Cheese Frosting:
8 oz cream cheese, softened
¼ cup unsalted butter, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups powdered sugar

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x9-inch baking dish.
In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
In another bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in eggs one at a time, then mix in mashed bananas and vanilla extract.
Add dry ingredients alternately with sour cream, mixing until just combined.
Pour batter into the prepared dish and bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Allow cake to cool completely before frosting.

For the frosting, beat cream cheese and butter together until smooth.
Add vanilla extract, then gradually mix in powdered sugar until creamy.
Spread evenly over the cooled banana cake.
