Smoky Bacon Mac and Cheese with Gouda
Ingredients:
- 1 lb macaroni
- 6 slices of bacon, chopped
- 4 tbsp butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cups whole milk
- 2 cups shredded Gouda cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
1. Cook macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
2. In a pan, cook bacon until crispy. Remove bacon from pan and set aside, leaving the bacon grease in the pan.
3. Add butter to the bacon grease and melt over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook for 1-2 minutes.
4. Slowly whisk in milk until it thickens. Add Gouda cheese, stirring until melted and smooth.
5. Add cooked macaroni and bacon to the cheese sauce, mixing until well combined.
6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
