🦀 Crispy Crab Balls
▪️ Ingredients:
1 lb lump crab meat, drained and picked over
1/2 cup breadcrumbs (plus extra for coating)
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1 large egg, beaten
1 tbsp Dijon mustard
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp Old Bay seasoning
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
Salt and pepper to taste
1/4 cup finely chopped green onions
2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)
▪️ Directions:
Mix the Ingredients: In a large bowl, gently combine crab meat, breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, egg, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, green onions, and parsley. Mix until just combined, being careful not to break up the crab too much.
Form the Balls: Shape the mixture into 1-inch balls. Roll each crab ball in extra breadcrumbs to lightly coat.
Heat the Oil: In a large skillet, heat about 1/4 inch of oil over medium heat until shimmering.
Fry the Crab Balls: Fry the crab balls in batches for 2–3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy. Avoid overcrowding the pan to ensure even frying.
Drain and Serve: Remove crab balls from the oil and drain on paper towels. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
