🇮🇹 Ziti al Forno
A comforting baked pasta classic from southern Italy—cheesy, saucy, and always satisfying!
📝 Ingredients:
• 12 oz ziti pasta
• 1 cup ricotta cheese
• 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
• 1 1/2 cups tomato sauce
• 1/4 cup grated Parmesan
• 1 egg
• Salt and pepper
• Fresh basil or oregano (optional)
👩🍳 Instructions:
1️⃣ Cook ziti until just al dente, drain and set aside.
2️⃣ In a bowl, mix ricotta, egg, half the mozzarella, salt, pepper, and herbs.
3️⃣ In a greased baking dish, layer half the pasta, dollops of the ricotta mix, some sauce, and repeat.
4️⃣ Top with remaining sauce, mozzarella, and grated Parmesan.
5️⃣ Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 25–30 minutes until golden and bubbly.
6️⃣ Let rest 5 minutes before serving.
