Better Than Cracker Barrel Hashbrown Casserole
Ingredients:
2 pounds frozen hashbrowns
½ cup onion, diced
½ cup butter, melted
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 cup sour cream
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
1 cup crushed cornflakes (optional, for topping)
Directions:
Preheat the Oven:
Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) to get it ready.
Mix the Ingredients:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the frozen hashbrowns, diced onion, melted butter, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese, salt, and black pepper. Stir well until everything is evenly mixed.
Transfer to a Baking Dish:
Spread the mixture evenly into a greased baking dish.
Add Crunch (Optional):
For an extra crispy topping, sprinkle the crushed cornflakes on top of the casserole.
Bake:
Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and golden brown on top.
Melt the Cheese:
After removing the casserole from the oven, sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of cheddar cheese on top. Return it to the oven for an additional 5-10 minutes, or until the cheese has melted completely.
Cool & Serve:
Let the casserole cool slightly before serving, then enjoy the creamy, cheesy goodness!
