🤤🤤😍 OMG DON'T LOSE IT! Best Cranberry Orange Scones Recipe 🍊🍒
Ingredients:
All-Purpose Flour: 2 cups
Granulated Sugar: 1/2 cup
Baking Powder: 2 teaspoons
Salt: 1/2 teaspoon
Unsalted Butter (cold, cubed): 1/2 cup
Fresh Cranberries (coarsely chopped): 1 cup
Orange Zest: 1 tablespoon
Heavy Cream: 2/3 cup
Large Egg: 1
Vanilla Extract: 1 teaspoon
For the Glaze:
Powdered Sugar: 1 cup
Fresh Orange Juice: 2 tablespoons
Orange Zest (optional): 1/2 teaspoon
Directions:
Preheat and Prepare:
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Mix Dry Ingredients:
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
Cut in Butter:
Add the cold, cubed butter to the dry ingredients. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to work the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
Add Cranberries and Zest:
Gently fold in the chopped cranberries and orange zest until evenly distributed.
Combine Wet Ingredients:
In a separate bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, egg, and vanilla extract.
Form the Dough:
Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Stir until just combined; the dough will be slightly sticky.
Shape and Cut:
Transfer the dough onto a floured surface. Pat it into an 8-inch circle, about 1-inch thick. Cut the circle into 8 wedges.
Bake:
Place the wedges onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
Prepare the Glaze:
While the scones are baking, whisk together the powdered sugar, orange juice, and optional zest until smooth.
Glaze and Serve:
Allow the scones to cool slightly, then drizzle the orange glaze over the top. Serve warm and enjoy!
Note: These scones are perfect for breakfast or a delightful afternoon treat. The combination of tart cranberries and sweet orange glaze creates a harmonious balance of flavors.
