FRENCH ONION BEEF AND NOODLES π²π₯©
Ingredients:
1 pound beef stew meat or chuck roast, cut into bite-sized pieces
2 large onions, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon dried rosemary
1 cup beef broth
1 cup water
8 ounces egg noodles or pasta of your choice
1 cup shredded Swiss cheese or Gruyère cheese
Salt and black pepper to taste
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
Directions:
Step 1: Cook the Beef
In a large skillet or Dutch oven, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
Add the beef pieces and brown them on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
Step 2: Prepare the Onions
In the same skillet, add the sliced onions and cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until they are caramelized and golden brown, about 15-20 minutes.
Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
Step 3: Combine Ingredients
Return the browned beef to the skillet with the onions.
Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, dried thyme, dried rosemary, salt, and black pepper.
Pour in the beef broth and water, bringing the mixture to a simmer.
Cover and cook for 1 to 1.5 hours, or until the beef is tender and cooked through.
Step 4: Cook the Noodles
While the beef is cooking, cook the egg noodles or pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
Step 5: Combine Noodles and Beef
Once the beef is tender, stir in the cooked noodles and mix until well combined.
Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the top and allow it to melt, about 2-3 minutes.
Step 6: Serve
Garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired.
Serve hot and enjoy!
