Ingredients
For the Beef & Marinade:
1 lb beef flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp cornstarch
1 tsp sesame oil
½ tsp black pepper
For the Sauce:
3 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp hoisin sauce
1 tsp sugar
½ cup beef or chicken broth
1 tsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
For the Stir-Fry:
2 tbsp vegetable oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp fresh ginger, minced
3 cups broccoli florets
8 oz cooked lo mein noodles or spaghetti
2 green onions, sliced
Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
Instructions
1: Marinate the Beef
In a bowl, combine sliced beef with soy sauce, cornstarch, sesame oil, and black pepper. Set aside for 10–15 minutes.
2: Prepare the Sauce
In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sugar, and broth. Set aside.
3: Cook the Broccoli
Heat 1 tbsp oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
Add broccoli and stir-fry 3–4 minutes until tender-crisp. Remove from skillet and set aside.
4: Cook the Beef
Add remaining oil to the skillet. Stir-fry beef for 2–3 minutes until browned but still tender. Remove and set aside.
Step 5: Make the Lo Mein
In the same skillet, add garlic and ginger, cooking until fragrant (30 seconds).
Return beef and broccoli to the skillet.
Add cooked noodles and pour in the sauce. Toss everything together over medium heat until noodles are coated and heated through.
Enjoy!
