Caramel Cake Recipe. Delicious😋😋😋
Ingredients:
All-purpose flour – 3 cups (375g)
Baking powder – 2 ½ tsp
Baking soda – ½ tsp
Salt – ½ tsp
Unsalted butter – 1 cup (225g), softened
Granulated sugar – 2 cups (400g)
Eggs – 4 large
Vanilla extract – 2 tsp
Buttermilk – 1 ½ cups (360ml)
Ingredients for Caramel Filling & Frosting
Granulated sugar – 2 cups (400g)
Unsalted butter – ½ cup (115g)
Heavy cream – 1 cup (240ml)
Vanilla extract – 1 tsp
Salt – ½ tsp
Instructions for Cake
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line three 8-inch round pans.
Whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla.
Alternate adding dry ingredients and buttermilk into the butter mixture, starting and ending with dry. Mix until just combined.
Divide batter evenly into the prepared pans. Bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Cool in pans 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Instructions for Caramel Filling & Frosting
In a heavy saucepan, melt sugar over medium heat until it turns a golden amber color.
Carefully stir in butter, then slowly pour in cream while whisking (it will bubble up).
Remove from heat, stir in vanilla and salt. Let cool until thickened but spreadable.
Assembling the Cake
Place the first cake layer on a serving plate and spread a layer of caramel filling.
Add the second cake layer, spread more caramel.
Top with the third cake layer and cover the entire cake with caramel frosting.
Drizzle extra caramel on top and decorate with a swirl or caramel shards if desired.
