Halloween Bat Brownies
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 12 chocolate sandwich cookies (such as Oreos)
- 24 candy eyes
- Black decorating gel or melted chocolate for details
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8x8 inch baking pan or line with parchment paper.
2. In a medium saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
3. Sift in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Stir until just combined.
4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
5. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Let cool completely.
6. Once cooled, cut brownies into 12 equal squares.
7. Twist apart chocolate sandwich cookies to separate halves. Use the cream side to attach two cookie halves as bat wings on each brownie square.
8. Place two candy eyes on each brownie for the bat’s eyes.
9. Use black decorating gel or melted chocolate to add a mouth or wing details as desired.
