Crispy, golden, and full of flavor—this Crunchy Batter Fried Fish is perfect for any occasion!
Ingredients:
• Fish: 1 lb white fish fillets (cod, haddock, etc.), salt, pepper, and 1 cup flour for dusting.
• Batter: 1 cup flour, 1/2 cup cornstarch, 1 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp pepper, 1/2 tsp paprika (optional), 1 cup cold sparkling water or beer.
• For Frying: Oil for deep frying.
Directions:
1. Prep the Fish: Pat fillets dry, season with salt and pepper, and dust with flour.
2. Make the Batter: Mix flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, pepper, and paprika. Whisk in sparkling water or beer until smooth.
3. Heat Oil: Heat 1-2 inches of oil in a skillet to 350°F (175°C).
4. Batter & Fry: Dip floured fish into batter and fry in batches for 3-4 minutes per side until golden.
