Creamy Cajun Steak & Mozzarella Garlic Butter Pasta
Ingredients:
2 lbs sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
1 tablespoon olive oil
4 tablespoons butter, divided
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup chicken broth
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
12 oz pasta (your choice: fettuccine, linguine, or penne)
1/4 cup reserved pasta water
1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Directions:
Season the steak bites with Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
Heat olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak bites and cook for 3-4 minutes per side until browned and cooked to your desired doneness. Remove the steak bites from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and minced garlic. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
Add the heavy cream and chicken broth to the skillet, stirring to combine. Bring to a simmer and let the sauce thicken for 2-3 minutes.
Meanwhile, cook your pasta according to the package instructions. Reserve 1/4 cup of pasta water before draining.
Stir in shredded mozzarella cheese into the creamy sauce, whisking until it melts into a smooth and cheesy consistency. Add the reserved pasta water to achieve your desired sauce consistency.
Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat the pasta in the creamy sauce.
Return the Cajun steak bites to the skillet and toss them with the pasta and sauce.
Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
