The BEST Oven Fried Chicken

Ingredients:

2 eggs

1 cup panko bread crumbs

¾ cup all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon seasoning salt

2 teaspoons paprika

½ teaspoon black pepper

2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into strips (about 3 to 4 breasts)

¼ cup unsalted butter, plus more if needed

Directions:

Preheat oven to 425°F (218°C).

In a shallow dish, whisk the eggs. In a separate shallow dish, combine the panko, flour, seasoning salt, paprika, and pepper.

Dip each chicken strip into the egg mixture, then press into the breadcrumb mixture to coat thoroughly. Set aside on a plate.

Place butter on a rimmed baking sheet and put it in the oven to melt. Watch closely so the butter doesn’t burn—just melt and heat the pan.

Carefully remove the hot pan from the oven. Arrange the chicken strips on the pan with space between each piece.

Bake for 20 minutes, flipping the chicken halfway through. Add more butter if needed. Chicken is done when the internal temperature reaches 165°F and the coating is golden and crisp.

Remove from the oven and serve immediately.
