Grandma's Secret Monterey Sausage Pie
Ingredients:
1 pound ground sausage (mild or spicy, your choice)
1 cup diced onion
1 cup diced bell pepper (any color)
1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup milk
4 large eggs
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon olive oil
Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch pie dish with olive oil.
2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground sausage until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. Add the diced onion and bell pepper, cooking until the vegetables are tender, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk until well combined. Stir in the flour, baking powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until smooth.
4. Fold in the cooked sausage mixture and both cheeses until evenly distributed.
5. Pour the mixture into the prepared pie dish and spread it evenly.
6. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
7. Let the pie cool for 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
