Tricia's Fantastic Fudge Pie
Ingredients:
1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Directions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Place the chocolate chips and butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until completely melted and smooth.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
Gradually stir the melted chocolate mixture into the sugar and egg mixture.
Add the flour and salt, mixing just until incorporated. Fold in the chopped walnuts if using.
Pour the batter into the unbaked pie crust, smoothing the top with a spatula.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the pie is set around the edges but slightly soft in the center.
Allow the pie to cool on a wire rack before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature, possibly with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a truly indulgent treat.
