Homemade Apple Crumble

Ingredients:

For the Filling:
6 cups peeled and sliced apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tbsp all-purpose flour
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1 tsp lemon juice

For the Crumble Topping:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x9-inch baking dish.
In a large bowl, mix apples with both sugars, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Pour into the baking dish and spread evenly.
In another bowl, combine flour, oats, sugars, cinnamon, and salt for the topping. Cut in the butter using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture is crumbly.
Sprinkle the crumble evenly over the apples.

Bake for 40–45 minutes or until the topping is golden and the filling is bubbling.
Cool slightly and serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
