🇫🇷 Flan Parisien (Parisian Custard Tart)
This classic French custard tart has a silky vanilla filling inside a buttery crust—perfect with coffee or tea!
Ingredients
• 1 sheet of shortcrust pastry
• 500ml milk
• 4 egg yolks
• 100g sugar
• 40g cornstarch
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Line a tart tin with pastry and prick the base.
2. Heat milk with vanilla until just simmering.
3. Whisk egg yolks, sugar, and cornstarch in a bowl until pale.
4. Pour the hot milk into the egg mixture slowly, whisking constantly.
5. Return to pan and cook over low heat until thickened.
6. Pour custard into pastry shell and smooth the top.
7. Bake for 35–40 minutes until set and golden.
8. Cool completely, then refrigerate before serving.
