Sarde in Saor (Venetian Sweet and Sour Sardines)๐ฎ๐นโจ A perfect blend of raisins, onions, and pine nuts! ๐๐
Ingredients:
โข 8 fresh sardines (cleaned and gutted, 400g)
โข 1/4 cup onions, thinly sliced (30g)
โข 1 tbsp raisins (15g)
โข 1 tbsp pine nuts (15g)
โข 1/4 cup white wine vinegar (60ml)
โข 1/4 cup olive oil (60ml)
โข 1/4 cup all-purpose flour (30g)
โข Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions:
1. Dust sardines with flour and fry in olive oil until golden brown. Set aside.
2. In the same pan, sautรฉ onions until soft. Add vinegar, raisins, and pine nuts. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
3. Layer sardines and the onion mixture in a dish. Let marinate in the refrigerator for 24 hours.
