Creamy Chicken Alfredo with Cajun Spices and Bowtie Pasta

Ingredients:

2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
1 pound bowtie pasta (farfalle)
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
1/4 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper, or to taste
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup chicken broth
1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking chicken)
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Directions:

Cook the bowtie pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the bowtie pasta according to the package instructions until al dente, about 10-12 minutes. Drain, reserving about 1 cup of pasta water. Set the pasta aside.
Cook the chicken: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken pieces, sprinkle with Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Cook for 6-8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is golden brown and fully cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
Make the creamy Cajun Alfredo sauce: In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes, until fragrant and golden.
Add the cream and broth: Pour in the heavy cream and chicken broth. Stir to combine, bringing the mixture to a simmer. Let it cook for 3-5 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
Finish the sauce: Stir in the Parmesan cheese, allowing it to melt and create a smooth, creamy sauce. Taste and adjust seasoning with more Cajun seasoning, salt, or pepper, depending on your preference.
Combine pasta and chicken: Add the cooked bowtie pasta and the chicken back into the skillet, tossing to coat the pasta in the creamy Cajun Alfredo sauce. If the sauce gets too thick, add a little reserved pasta water to adjust the consistency.
Serve and garnish: Serve the creamy Cajun chicken Alfredo immediately, garnished with freshly chopped parsley for a pop of color.
