Parmesan Crusted Chicken with Creamy Garlic Sauce
Get ready for a flavorful feast that brings together crispy chicken and a luscious sauce! This dish is perfect for a cozy dinner at home.
Ingredients:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1/4 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 egg, beaten
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
2. In a shallow dish, combine the grated Parmesan cheese, panko breadcrumbs, garlic powder, dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix them until well combined.
3. Dip each chicken breast into the beaten egg, ensuring it is fully coated. Then, dredge the chicken in the Parmesan mixture, pressing lightly to ensure an even coating.
4. In a large ovenproof skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the coated chicken breasts to the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they turn a lovely golden brown.
5. Once browned, transfer the skillet to the preheated oven. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
6. While the chicken is baking, prepare the creamy garlic sauce. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
7. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Allow it to cook for 3-4 minutes before adding the heavy cream. Let the sauce simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes until it thickens to your desired consistency. Season it with salt and pepper to taste.
8. Once the chicken is done baking, remove it from the oven and drizzle the creamy garlic sauce over the top. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
