Cream Cheese Cinnamon Rolls

Ingredients:

- 2 Tbsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp all-purpose flour, sifted
- 1 1/2 cups whole milk
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 2 Tbsp granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs, whisked
- 1 1/2 Tbsp active dry yeast
- 4 cups all-purpose flour, measured then sifted
- 16 Tbsp unsalted butter, room temperature
- 8 oz cream cheese, room temperature
- 1 1/3 cups granulated sugar

Directions:

1. Warm the milk until it is lukewarm, then sprinkle the active dry yeast over the milk and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
2. In a large bowl, combine the sifted flour, salt, and sugar.
3. Add the whisked eggs and the yeast mixture to the dry ingredients and mix until a soft dough forms.
4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until doubled in size.
6. While the dough rises, prepare the cream cheese filling by beating together the unsalted butter, cream cheese, and granulated sugar until smooth and creamy.
7. Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a large rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
8. Mix the ground cinnamon with the sifted flour and sprinkle evenly over the rolled-out dough.
9. Spread the cream cheese filling evenly over the cinnamon mixture.
10. Carefully roll the dough tightly from one long edge to the other to form a log.
11. Cut the log into 12 equal slices and place them into a greased baking pan, spaced evenly.
12. Cover the pan and allow the rolls to rise for an additional 30-45 minutes.
13. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
14. Bake the cinnamon rolls for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
15. Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before serving.
