๐ถ Alabama Firecrackers ๐ฅ
Ingredients:
1 (16 oz) box of saltine crackers
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 packet ranch seasoning mix (dry)
1 tbsp crushed red pepper flakes (adjust for desired heat level)
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional for extra heat)
1/2 tsp salt (optional)
1/2 tsp black pepper
Instructions:
1. Prepare the seasoning mix:
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the vegetable oil, ranch seasoning mix, crushed red pepper flakes, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Stir until the seasoning mix is fully dissolved in the oil.
2. Coat the crackers:
Place the saltine crackers in a large resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the seasoning mixture over the crackers.
Seal the bag (or cover the dish) and gently shake and toss the crackers to evenly coat them with the seasoning mix. Be careful not to break the crackers!
3. Let them marinate:
Allow the crackers to sit for at least 2 hours, but for best results, let them marinate overnight, shaking the bag every hour or so to ensure theyโre evenly coated.
4. Bake (optional for extra crispiness):
Preheat your oven to 250ยฐF (120ยฐC). Spread the marinated crackers in a single layer on a baking sheet.
Bake for about 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes to ensure even crisping. Baking them is optional, but it gives them a nice crunch. If you prefer them without baking, you can enjoy them right after marinating.
5. Serve:
Once theyโre done, let them cool completely on a wire rack if baked, or enjoy them immediately if not. Serve these Alabama Firecrackers in a bowl at your next party, or just snack on them during movie night!
