Bakery-Style Chocolate Chip Cookies
Makes about 12 large cookies
Ingredients:
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, room temp
1 cup brown sugar, packed
½ cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
2 cups semisweet or dark chocolate chips or chunks
Optional: flaky sea salt for topping
Instructions:
1. Cream Butter & Sugars:
In a large bowl, cream butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy (2–3 min).
2. Add Eggs & Vanilla:
Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla.
3. Mix Dry Ingredients:
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
Gradually mix into wet ingredients until just combined.
4. Stir in Chocolate:
Fold in chocolate chips or chunks. Do not overmix.
5. Chill the Dough:
Chill dough for at least 1 hour (overnight is best for thicker cookies and better flavor).
6. Bake:
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Scoop large dough balls (about ¼ cup each) onto a lined baking sheet, spaced well apart.
Optional: Sprinkle with sea salt.
7. Bake Time:
