Smothered Pork Chops Recipe
Ingredients:
⦁ Pork chops (bone-in or boneless)
⦁ Flour (for dredging)
⦁ Butter or oil (for frying)
⦁ 1 medium onion, sliced
⦁ 2 cups beef or chicken broth
⦁ Salt and pepper to taste
⦁ Optional: garlic powder or other seasonings
Instructions:
1. Season pork chops with salt, pepper, and any other spices you like.
2. Dredge chops in flour, shaking off excess.
3. In a skillet, melt butter or heat oil over medium heat and brown the pork chops on both sides, then remove and set aside.
4. In the same skillet, sauté sliced onions until softened.
5. Sprinkle some flour over the onions and stir to make a roux.
6. Gradually add broth, stirring constantly until the gravy thickens.
7. Return pork chops to the skillet, cover, and simmer on low for 20-30 minutes until chops are tender and fully cooked, and the gravy is thick and flavorful.
