🍫🥥 German Chocolate Pound Cake 🥥🍫
📝 Ingredients:
For the cake:
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
2 cups granulated sugar
4 large eggs
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup buttermilk
1 tsp vanilla extract
4 oz German chocolate, melted and cooled
For the coconut-pecan topping:
1/2 cup evaporated milk
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 egg yolks
1/4 cup butter
1 tsp vanilla extract
3/4 cup sweetened shredded coconut
1/2 cup chopped pecans
👩🍳 Instructions:
🔥 Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C). Grease and flour a bundt or loaf pan.
🧈 Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time.
🥣 In a bowl, whisk flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
🌀 Alternately add flour mixture and buttermilk to the butter mixture, beginning and ending with flour.
🍫 Stir in melted German chocolate and vanilla until smooth.
🍰 Pour into prepared pan and bake for 60–70 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely.
🥥 For the topping: In a saucepan, whisk milk, sugar, egg yolks, and butter over medium heat until thickened.
🌰 Remove from heat, stir in vanilla, coconut, and pecans. Let cool slightly.
🎂 Spread topping over cooled pound cake and serve.
