Blackened Steak & Shrimp with Cajun Cream Sauce 🍤🥩
Ingredients:
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 ribeye or sirloin steaks
- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp butter
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
Instructions:
1. Begin by preparing the steaks. Pat them dry with paper towels to create a good sear. Season both sides generously with Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper. Let them sit at room temperature for about 15-20 minutes.
2. While the steaks are resting, heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil.
3. Once the oil is hot, add the seasoned steaks to the skillet. Sear the steaks for about 4-5 minutes on each side (or longer depending on your preferred doneness), until they have a magnificent blackened crust.
4. Once cooked, transfer the steaks to a plate and cover them with aluminum foil to keep warm while you prepare the shrimp.
5. In the same skillet, add the butter and let it melt. Then, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
6. Next, toss in the shrimp and sprinkle with a little more Cajun seasoning. Cook for about 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently until the shrimp turn a lovely pink color and are cooked through.
7. Lower the heat and carefully pour in the heavy cream, stirring to combine. Allow the mixture to simmer for about 3-4 minutes until it thickens slightly.
8. Finish the sauce by adding the lemon juice and adjusting the seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
9. Serve the blackened steaks topped with the creamy Cajun shrimp sauce, garnishing with freshly chopped parsley for a touch of color.
10. Enjoy your delightful fusion of southern flavors combined with steakhouse luxury!
