Easy air fryer french Fries
Ingredients:
Potatoes (Russet potatoes work well)
Olive oil or cooking spray
Salt
Optional: Seasonings like garlic powder, paprika, or onion powder for extra flavor
Instructions:
Wash the potatoes thoroughly and peel them if desired. Cut the potatoes into evenly sized sticks or wedges, about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick. Try to keep them as uniform as possible to ensure even cooking.
Soak the potato sticks in cold water for about 30 minutes to remove excess starch. This helps make the fries crispier.
After soaking, drain the potatoes and pat them dry with paper towels or a clean kitchen towel to remove excess moisture.
Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (190°C) for a few minutes.
Place the dried potato sticks in a bowl and toss them with a drizzle of olive oil or spray them lightly with cooking spray. Make sure the potatoes are evenly coated with oil.
Arrange the potato sticks in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure they aren’t crowded. You may need to cook them in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
Cook the fries in the air fryer for about 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through the cooking time to ensure even cooking. Keep an eye on them towards the end of the cooking time to prevent over-browning.
Once the fries are golden brown and crispy, remove them from the air fryer and season with salt and any additional seasonings you like.
Serve the fries hot with your favorite dipping sauces, such as ketchup, mayonnaise, or aioli.
