Ingredients:
- 6 large apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Directions:
1. In a large saucepan, combine the granulated sugar, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
2. Stir in the water and lemon juice until the mixture is smooth.
3. Add the sliced apples to the saucepan and toss to coat them evenly with the sugar mixture.
4. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until the mixture begins to thicken and the apples become tender, about 10-15 minutes.
5. Remove from heat and let cool before using as a filling for pies, tarts, or other desserts. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
