It is believed that the Shirley Temple Mock Cocktail may have been invented by a bartender at Chasen's, a restaurant in West Hollywood, California, to serve then-child actress Shirley Temple.

Shirley Temple (Traditional Recipe)
6 ounces ginger ale
1 ounce grenadine
1 ounce lime juice - optional
Maraschino cherry
Add ginger ale and grenadine. If desired, top off with a little lime juice. Stir together.
Fill glass 1/2 to 3/4 full with ice.
Garnish with a cherry

For a Dirty Shirley add 2 oz. vodka
