Sweet Cherry Pie Bar Recipe
Ingredients
→ Base
1 cup butter, softened
2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon salt
4 large eggs, room temperature
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
¼ teaspoon almond extract
3 cups all-purpose flour
→ Filling
2 cans (21 ounces each) cherry pie filling
→ Glaze
1 cup confectioners' sugar
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
½ teaspoon almond extract
2-3 tablespoons 2% milk
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F. Cream butter, sugar and salt until light and fluffy, 5-7 minutes. Beat in eggs one at a time, then add extracts. Gradually mix in flour
Spread 3 cups of dough in greased 15x10x1-inch baking pan. Top with cherry pie filling. Drop remaining dough by teaspoonfuls over filling
Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown. Cool completely in pan on wire rack
Mix confectioners' sugar, extracts, and enough milk for desired consistency. Drizzle over cooled bars
