Ultimate Chocolate Ganache Cake
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup water
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
1/2 cup chocolate chips
For Hazelnut Buttercream:
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
3 cups powdered sugar
1/2 cup hazelnut spread
2 tablespoons heavy cream
For Ganache:
1/2 cup heavy cream
4 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
Optional toppings: chopped hazelnuts, chocolate sprinkles
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line cake pan with paper liners.
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
Add water, vegetable oil, vanilla extract, and apple cider vinegar to the dry ingredients and mix until smooth.
Fold in chocolate chips and divide the batter among the cake liners.
Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
For the buttercream, beat the butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, then hazelnut spread, and heavy cream until smooth.
Pipe the buttercream onto cooled cakes.
For the ganache, heat the heavy cream until it begins to simmer. Pour over the chopped chocolate and let sit for 2 minutes, then stir until smooth.
Drizzle ganache over the frosted cakes and sprinkle with optional toppings.
