Del Taco Secret Sauce
Ingredients:
½ cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 tablespoon white vinegar
1 tablespoon sweet pickle relish
1 teaspoon sugar
½ teaspoon onion powder
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon paprika
¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust for heat)
Salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions:
Mix the base: In a medium bowl, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, and vinegar. Stir until smooth.
Add flavor: Mix in the sweet pickle relish, sugar, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper.
Season to taste: Add a pinch of salt and pepper. Stir again and taste—adjust seasonings as needed.
Let it rest: Cover the bowl and refrigerate the sauce for at least 30 minutes. This gives the flavors time to meld together.
Serve: Use as a spread for tacos, burgers, sandwiches, or as a dipping sauce for fries, nuggets, or onion rings.
Notes:
For less heat, reduce the cayenne or skip it altogether.
Want extra zest? Add a squeeze of lime or a dash of hot sauce.
Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week.
Stir before using if refrigerated.
