The Best Goulash
Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
1 onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 bell pepper, chopped
1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes
2 cups beef broth
1 cup elbow macaroni
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
Shredded cheese for topping (optional)
Directions
Start by placing a large pot on the stove over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until it’s nicely browned, breaking it up as you go. Toss in the chopped onion, garlic, and bell pepper, and let everything cook together until the veggies are softened and fragrant.
Next, stir in the diced tomatoes and pour in the beef broth. Add the elbow macaroni, Worcestershire sauce, and paprika. Give everything a good stir, then season with salt and pepper to your taste.
Bring the pot to a gentle boil, then lower the heat and let it simmer uncovered for about 20 to 25 minutes. You’ll want to give it an occasional stir so the pasta cooks evenly and doesn’t stick to the bottom. When the macaroni is tender and the flavors are all mingled together, it’s ready.
Serve your goulash hot and, if you like, sprinkle a little shredded cheese on top. Enjoy every warm, hearty bite!
