Fluffy Lemon Cake

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
3 eggs
1 tablespoon lemon zest
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup buttermilk
Powdered sugar for dusting

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in lemon zest, lemon juice, and vanilla extract.
Alternately add the dry ingredients and buttermilk to the wet ingredients, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Mix until just combined.
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
