📝 Ingredients:
For the Cake:
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
4 large eggs
1/4 cup sour cream
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
2 tbsp lemon zest
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
For the Lemon Glaze:
1 cup powdered sugar
2–3 tbsp fresh lemon juice
1 tsp lemon zest (optional for extra zing)
🔥 Directions:
1. Preheat & Prep:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Grease and flour a 9x5-inch loaf pan or line with parchment paper.
2. Cream Butter & Sugar:
In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar together until light and fluffy (about 2–3 minutes).
3. Add Eggs & Flavors:
Beat in eggs one at a time.
Add sour cream, milk, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Mix until smooth.
4. Mix Dry Ingredients:
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Gradually add to wet ingredients and mix just until combined.
5. Bake It:
Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth the top.
Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Let cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
6. Add the Glaze:
Mix powdered sugar with lemon juice to create a pourable glaze.
Drizzle over cooled cake and sprinkle with lemon zest if desired.
