Creamy Tofu Paneer Cubes With Aromatic Spices 🌶️🧀
Ingredients:
1 block extra-firm tofu (14 oz/400 g), pressed and drained
2 tablespoons lemon juice (30 ml)
1 tablespoon nutritional yeast (6 g)
1 teaspoon turmeric powder (3 g)
1 teaspoon garam masala (3 g)
1/2 teaspoon salt (3 g)
2 tablespoons coconut oil (30 ml)
1 tablespoon cornstarch (8 g)
1/4 cup plain unsweetened plant yogurt (60 ml)
2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro (8 g)
1 teaspoon ginger paste (5 g)
1/2 teaspoon cumin powder (1.5 g)
Directions:
1. Cut the pressed tofu into 1-inch (2.5 cm) cubes and place in a large bowl.
2. In a separate bowl, mix lemon juice, nutritional yeast, turmeric, 1/2 teaspoon garam masala, and salt to create a marinade.
3. Pour the marinade over the tofu cubes, gently toss to coat, and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
4. After marinating, sprinkle cornstarch over the tofu and toss gently to coat all sides.
5. Heat coconut oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat.
6. Add the tofu cubes and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
7. In a small bowl, mix plant yogurt with remaining garam masala, ginger paste, and cumin powder.
8. Drizzle the yogurt mixture over the fried tofu cubes.
9. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot with naan bread or rice.
